The Shining

Here I am in Estes Park, CO, at the Stanley Hotel, probably most famous for being the inspiration for and filming location of Steven King's "The Shining". Supposedly it's haunted. I'm actually on the fourth floor, where most of the supernatural activity happens.

But allow me to say: I ain't afraid of no ghost.

I'll keep you appraised of any strange happenings. I actually did just hear some kids run by in the hall, but I am assuming it was actually kids running by in the hall and not ghosts of kids running by in the hall.

And remember: All work and no play makes Matt a dull boy.

  3. Nope. But I am on the haunted fourth floor.

They play "The Shining" (new version) on an unending circuit.

I would argue that Stanley Hotel is actually most famous for being the location of filming for Dumb and Dumber when Harry and Lloyd get all the money. (Maybe not more famous for this, but I think it at least bestows a higher honor upon the hotel than "The Shining".)

When you're bored looking for ghosts, you should go down and see if anyone is handing out cash on the front steps.

  5. Eric-- they actually showed that clip here at conference! I was told it was actually a documentary based on the arrival of certain RDs to the conference. That's what they said.
