I generally don't think of myself as dull. And, I pride myself, a bit, on being the one in the crowd to admit I don't get something. I also imagine I may not be the only one thinking "I don't get it!".

Stephen, it's not a matter of sharpness, it's a matter of knowing your collective nouns for animals.
