Further Evidence: Best. Wife. Ever.

As if we need more evidence:

1) Last night, Krista watched The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters with me. It's a documentary about two guys battling it out to see who can have the world's highest score in Donkey Kong. Not her first choice in movie.

2) Krista is going to be out of town next week, and she suggested that I eat "tater tots with melted cheese and salsa on top" all week. Great idea!

Best. Wife. Ever.

Krista came home today from an outing with the kids and brought me home a BOOK! For no reason other than she was thinking of me.

Books are my "love language" (although most people don't include this on official love language lists, the fact remains).

Especially when it is a book like this one.

You know this is a good book because I can flip it open randomly and find lines like these:

"Acid in the face is no fun."

"Can it, for God's sake, Johnny. You're not a punk yet."

"Listen, you cheap grifter! Keep your paws down, see! Tinhorns are dust to me! Dangle!"

The book: Raymond Chandler's "Pickup On Noon Street." I can't find an image of the cover online, so guess I'll have to scan it in for you later.

The Husband's Diet When The Wife Is Away

1) Make a decision to eat healthy while your wife is away.

2) Stop at the Mexican restaurant "just to take a phone call."

3) Buy a chimichanga, but assure yourself you will only eat half.

4) Eat it all.

5) Eat the leftover lettuce. Then the fresh salsa.

6) Realize that your breath is now really onion-y.

7) Buy a fresh strawberry milkshake to "cover the onion smell" on your breath.

8) Start to feel nauseous about halfway through the milkshake.

9) Keep drinking it because you don't want to waste it.

10) Decide not to eat dinner because your stomach hurts.

11) Eat it anyway.

12) Try to convince yourself that eating too much junk on the first day is a good strategy to prevent yourself from eating junk the rest of the week.
