For those of you who have been wanting to read the "Disarming Questions" article and I kept telling you to Go Away because it wasn't online yet and I didn't want to read it to you over the phone, NavPress just put it online.
So: Go. Read. Enjoy. Pass it on.

Disarming Questions
A couple of you have written to ask where you can buy a copy of the most recent issue of Discipleship Journal, which has my article "Disarming Questions" in it.
And here is where you can do just that.

New Discipleship Journal Article

My first feature article in Discipleship Journal is now available in the January/February 2009 issue. The name of the article is "Disarming Questions" and it's about ways to continue a positive conversation about God with people who are hostile to Christianity.
The editors at DJ are great and really excellent people to work with. If you get a chance to pick up the magazine I think you would enjoy it.

Discipleship Journal (in my mailbox)
I mentioned last month that I sold an article to Discipleship Journal. This was a special moment for me, because it's a full-length article, and on a topic that I'm excited to see people read and hopefully try out in their lives.
One of the things I didn't anticipate is how nice the DJ staff and editors are. In addition to paying for my article, they also gave me a year's subscription to the magazine. Isn't that nice? It wasn't even in the contract, it was just a little thank-you from them.
Which means that today I received one in my mailbox. Which is nice, because usually all the magazines belong to Krista.
Except for Good Housekeeping. That one is mine.

New Article at Discipleship Journal
I got an e-mail tonight from one of the editors at Discipleship Journal and they've accepted another one of my articles. I originally sent a shorter article and they asked for me to rewrite it as a feature article. Which I did. Then they asked for a few more re-writes, which I did, and now there's a contract on the way! I'm thrilled, of course. Not only to have another article in DJ, but also because I'm excited that some people might read the article and use what they learn in it.
I'll let you know when I have an idea which issue it will be in.

Hot Off the Presses
The May/June issue of Discipleship Journal hit the stands this month. I have a modest article in the back talking about a tool for starting spiritual conversations called Soularium. This is my first article in a magazine that people have heard about*, so I'm pretty stoked about that. And I think it's a solid article that-- if it encourages people to have spiritual conversations-- has a chance to do a lot of good.
*Okay, people have heard of the Wittenburg Door also, but you have to know the secret handshake to get them to admit it.
